Privacy Policy for Beach Slap
Last updated: 22.05.2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Team KwaKwa Farhan & Co ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you play Beach Slap (the "Game"), including the demo version available on Steam.
This policy is intended to inform you about our data practices. Where we rely on your consent for a specific feature, we will ask for it separately; otherwise, the processing described here is necessary to provide the Game or rests on the other legal bases set out in Section 4. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not play the Game.
1. Who We Are
Beach Slap is developed and operated by Team KwaKwa Farhan & Co, a company registered in Switzerland. For privacy purposes, we are the "data controller" responsible for your personal data.
Registered address: Rue des Cotes-de-Montbenon 28, 1003 Lausanne, Switzerland
Email: team@team-kwakwa.com
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us using the details above or in Section 12.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the data needed to run the Game's online features, keep them stable, and respond to issues. The categories below reflect our current stack: Steam (distribution and authentication), PlayFab (player accounts, live operations, and automatic bug/crash reporting), and Photon Realtime (real-time multiplayer networking). The Game is built in Unity; we disable Unity's own analytics/data-collection features and do not use them to collect data about you.
The Game does not include voice chat or text chat, and we do not collect any chat content.
a) Account and gameplay data (via PlayFab)
A unique player ID assigned by PlayFab, linked to your Steam ID when you sign in with Steam
Your Steam display name and Steam ID, as provided by Steam at login
Gameplay and session data, such as matches played, sessions, in-game statistics, and connection counts used to monitor how many players are online
b) Multiplayer connection data (via Photon Realtime)
Your IP address and connection metadata, used to route real-time multiplayer traffic between players
Room/session identifiers and in-session technical data needed to keep matches synchronized
Because Photon routes traffic through regional servers, this data may be processed in any of the regions we use (see Section 6)
c) Platform and anti-cheat data (via Steam)
When you launch the Game through Steam, Valve provides us with limited data such as your Steam ID and authentication tokens.
The Game uses Steam's anti-cheat protections (Valve Anti-Cheat / VAC). Any data processed for anti-cheat is handled by Valve under Valve's privacy policy.
Steam's own collection of data is governed by Valve's privacy policy.
d) Automatic bug and crash reports (via PlayFab)
The Game automatically sends crash and error reports to PlayFab when a problem occurs. These reports include technical metadata such as device type, operating system, game version, error logs, and the state of the Game at the time of the issue.
These reports are generated automatically and do not require any action from you. We use them solely to diagnose and fix problems.
e) Support data (via email)
If you contact us by email, we collect your email address and the contents of your message.
f) Technical and device data
Basic device and technical information (e.g., operating system, hardware, region, crash and performance logs) used to diagnose problems and improve stability.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, religion, or precise location), and we ask that you not include such information in any message you send us.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Operate the Game and provide online multiplayer matchmaking and gameplay
Monitor how many players are connected and the health of our live services
Automatically detect, diagnose, fix, and prevent bugs, crashes, cheating, and abuse
Respond to your support requests
Maintain the security and integrity of the Game
Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
EU/EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract — to provide the online and multiplayer features you request.
Legitimate interests — to keep the Game secure, stable, and free of abuse, to operate automatic crash/bug reporting, and to understand player counts and service health.
Consent — where required for certain optional features; you may withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with applicable law.
Switzerland (revised FADP)
As a Swiss-based controller, we also process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). We process data where it is necessary to provide the Game, based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Game, to comply with legal obligations, or with your consent where required. Swiss residents have the data-subject rights described in Section 9.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with the following processors strictly to operate the Game. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:
| Steam | Valve Corporation (USA) | Game distribution, authentication, anti-cheat (VAC) | https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/ |
| PlayFab | Microsoft Corporation (USA) | Player accounts, live operations, automatic bug/crash reporting | https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement |
| Photon Realtime | Exit Games GmbH (Germany) and Exit Games Inc. (USA) | Real-time multiplayer networking | https://dashboard.photonengine.com/account/privacyandcookiepolicy |
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except where required by law or to protect our rights.
6. International Data Transfers
Because our service providers operate globally, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Switzerland, the EEA, and the UK, including the United States.
In particular, Photon Realtime routes multiplayer traffic through regional servers, which currently include servers in Asia, Australia, the EU, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States (US East and US West). Connection data such as your IP address may therefore be processed in the region nearest to your match.
Where data is transferred out of Switzerland, the EEA, or the UK, we and our providers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (including the Swiss addendum where applicable) or equivalent mechanisms recognized under Swiss, EU, and UK law.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
Account and gameplay data: retained while you have an active player account and the Game's online services are operating.
Connection data handled by Photon: transient — retained only as needed to route live sessions.
Automatic bug/crash reports and support emails: retained for 1 month to diagnose and resolve issues, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
8. Children's Privacy
Beach Slap is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to play. This is consistent with Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement, which requires Steam account holders to be at least 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at team@team-kwakwa.com and we will delete it.
United States (COPPA): Because the Game is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data, COPPA's parental-consent requirements are not triggered. If this changes, we will update this policy and our practices accordingly.
EU/UK (GDPR): The minimum age for consent to data processing ranges from 13 to 16 depending on the country. Players below the applicable age in their country should only use the Game with consent provided or authorized by a parent or guardian.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access the data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to certain processing
Data portability
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@team-kwakwa.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC).
For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we maintain internal practices to keep personal data secure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-game or on our Steam page.
12. Contact Us
